The School’s undergraduate programme has been restructured, resulting in greater specialization in the subjects taught. The School also provides students with theoretical and practical training directly related to their main field of study, aiming to prepare them for further study in disciplines related to psychology.
The School of Psychology consists of three departments which coordinate teaching and research, implementing programmes and activities that help faculty members fulfil their multiple roles.

The undergraduate programme of the Department of Medicine of Democritus University of Thrace provides comprehensive education in biomedical sciences and clinical medicine. The programme combines theoretical courses with clinical training in university clinics and laboratories at the University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis. The aim is to develop scientific knowledge, clinical skills and professional responsibility for the practice of medicine.
The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics offers a four-year undergraduate program organized into eight semesters. During the first two years of study, students become familiar with the fundamental concepts and principles of molecular biosciences, as well as with modern scientific methods and laboratory techniques. In the third and fourth years, students deepen their knowledge of Molecular Biology and Genetics and explore their scientific and technological applications.
In the first three semesters (A–C), only compulsory courses are offered. These courses are considered essential by the Department’s General Assembly for the academic training of a molecular biologist–geneticist, and students must successfully complete them in order to obtain their degree.
Starting from the fourth semester, students attend both compulsory courses and elective courses, from which they must select eight. Course selections are declared at the beginning of each semester. During the eighth semester, students may either complete a Bachelor’s Thesis or choose additional elective courses.
The thesis is an experimental research project aimed at familiarizing students with scientific problem solving, laboratory work, experimental design, literature use, data analysis, and the writing of an independent scientific study.
The Department of Economics Sciences was established in 1999 in Komotini and began operations in October 1999 in a modern building on the New University Campus, alongside the School of Law.
The Department of Economics offers the first two years of study (4 semesters) as core courses for all students. In the final two years (4 semesters), it offers two main areas of specialization: Economic Analysis and Business Administration. It thus aims to provide its graduates with both the general and specialized knowledge of economics and business administration required by the modern job market.
The Undergraduate Study Program of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Ioannina aims to provide comprehensive academic education in philosophy through the study of core areas such as epistemology, metaphysics, ethics, and political philosophy. The programme combines historical and systematic approaches, enabling students to become familiar with major philosophical schools and fundamental problems of the discipline. It also seeks to develop analytical ability, argumentation skills, and research competence, preparing graduates for academic research and educational careers.
The Study Programme of the Department of Economics at University of Crete has a duration of eight (8) academic semesters and corresponds to 240 ECTS credits. It includes core compulsory courses in economic theory, mathematics, statistics, econometrics, finance, business administration, and computer science, as well as elective courses that allow students to specialize in specific fields of economics. The programme combines theoretical training with applied knowledge, aiming to develop analytical, quantitative, and professional skills. Ιncludes specialization streams in the fields of Economic Theory and Policy, and Business Economics and Finance, providing students with the opportunity to specialize in specific areas of economics through elective courses and applied academic training.
The Undergraduate Study Program of the Department of Sports Organization and Management aims to educate specialists with advanced knowledge in sport management and administration. The programme combines management, economics, marketing, law, information technology, and sport policy. Students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for planning, organizing, managing, and developing sports organizations and sporting events. The programme lasts four years and corresponds to 240 ECTS credits. No official undergraduate specializations were identified in the current curriculum.
The Undergraduate Study Program of the Department of Performing and Digital Arts aims to educate artists and creators specialized in the integration of performing and digital arts. The programme focuses on contemporary artistic practice and research, combining theatre, dance, performance, digital arts, interactive media, virtual reality, and emerging technologies. According to the curriculum, studies are structured around two informal study pathways: Performing Arts and Digital Artistic Applications. The programme lasts four years and corresponds to 240 ECTS credits.
The Undergraduate Study Program of the Department of Physiotherapy aims to educate healthcare professionals with specialized knowledge in the prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation of movement and functional disorders. The programme includes theoretical instruction, laboratory education, clinical training, and practical placement in healthcare facilities. Students are trained in the management of musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiorespiratory, and other conditions requiring physiotherapy intervention. No official undergraduate specializations were identified in the current curriculum. The programme lasts four years and corresponds to 240 ECTS credits.
