Description

The Speech Therapy Department operates through the application of a modern curriculum that provides background courses from the fields of Linguistics, Medicine, Psychology, and Pedagogy, along with the necessary specialisation courses about the language, speech, voice, and hearing disorders, along with courses about new technologies. The curriculum was prepared by a Work Group which included the latest developments in the field of science, the observations made by professionals in the field, along with the observations by similar departments in Greece and abroad. Apart from the theoretical part, it includes a compulsory clinical practice of 900 hours, which is conducted in hospitals, special schools, institutions and in the Speech-Language Pathology Clinic of the Technical Educational Institution. The clinical practice is supervised by Speech-Language Pathologists / Speech-Language Therapists, professors or associates of the Department, with the purpose of students evaluating diagnosing, and treating patients.
