Description

The graduates of the Postgraduate Programme titled "Advanced Systems and Methods in Biomedical Technology", which is held independently by the Department of Biomedicine Technology Engineers of Technological Education, upon completing their studies, shall achieve the following learning outcomes:
Understanding and Knowledge
1. The acquisition of a wide but analytical perception of the current issues of Biomedical Technology.
2. The acquisition of the basic principles of technology sciences, which are related to Biomedical Technology, since these are chosen by the student and are directly related to the history of his/her personal and professional interests.
3. The progress of knowledge at a maximum level and the understanding of concepts, principles, theories and applications of specialized technologies with regard to specifically selected issues.
4. The development of knowledge about entrepreneurship, management, legal and social issues, in Biomedical Technology.
5. The development of the competence of integrating technology with the issues of entrepreneurship in pursuit of good technology practice.
6. The further development and evaluation of ethics and of the rules related to proper professional practice.

1. The integration of the principles of technology with knowledge and the understanding of mathematics, science, and management, in order to allow for the adoption of integrated approaches for the resolution of problems.
2. The use of numerous sources for the production and evaluation of ideas.
3. The use of mathematical models for the evaluation and resolution of technological problems.
4. The analysis of composite situations of interdisciplinary nature for the creation of suitable business strategies.
Cognitive Skills
1. The development and application of critical analysis, assessment and composition, while taking into consideration the existing theories, the concepts and the techniques, along with the design of projects and experimental models.
2. The development and use of skills and techniques for resolving problems with regard to the production of original and creative solutions for general and specific subjects.
Basic Skills

The holders of the Postgraduate Diploma titled "Advanced Systems and Methods in Biomedical Technology" receive a widely interdisciplinary scope of theoretical and applied knowledge that refer to specialised cutting-edge technologies in the field of Biomedical Technology. With the theoretical and practical background acquired about the technologies and the wider knowledge and skills in the field of Biomedical Technology, they shall be able to successfully undertake roles related both to issues concerning the productive procedure, and managerial roles for taking decisions and formulating strategies, through the integration of technologies in management strategies. They shall also be able to contribute to the formulation of the future directions of the industry connected with the field of Biomedical Technology and will be able to operate within a multidisciplinary environment.
