The holder of a Vocational Upper Secondary School degree of this specialty:
KNOWLEDGE

1. Describes the physiology of the human body and the basic principles of antisepsis, disinfection and sterilization.
2. Recognizes the utensils, instruments and equipment for medical laboratories.
SKILLS
1. Orders, receives and securely stores the reagents and materials required for the tests, and undertakes the preparation thereof for the analyses.
2. Receives and prepares samples for examination.
3. Conducts sampling and medical analyses under the supervision and guidance of the physician or of the Technologist of Medical Laboratories.
4. Keeps the file of the laboratory and distributes results accordingly (clinics, physicians, patients, etc.) while maintaining medical confidentiality.
COMPETENCES
1. Participates in the organization of the laboratory (sampling times, analyzes timetable, instructions to clients, etc.).
2. Maintains the ethics of medical laboratory for the protection of its employees and also to avoid dispersing infections and ensures the proper analysis of the samples.
3. Cooperates harmoniously with laboratory staff (Physicians, Medical Laboratory Technologists, auxiliary staff, etc.).
