Description
The Bachelor's Degree in Public and Community Health is offered by the Department of Public and Community Health of the School of Public Health at the University of West Attica. The programme provides comprehensive education in public health, community health, environmental health, epidemiology, hygiene, disease prevention, health promotion and public health risk management. Students acquire theoretical knowledge and laboratory skills to protect and promote population health.
Relation to Employment
The program prepares graduates for employment in public health services, local government agencies, hospitals, primary health care facilities, public agencies, auditing and inspection bodies, public health laboratories, environmental health organizations, research institutions, and health promotion organizations. It also offers opportunities for further study at the master’s and doctoral levels.
Access Requirements / Progression Opportunities
Admission to the program requires a Secondary School Leaving Certificate (High School Diploma) and successful participation in national-level examinations.

• Demonstrate scientific knowledge of Public and Community Health and understand the complex nature of issues related to health protection and health promotion.
• Understand the principles of environmental health, food hygiene and quality, hygiene in health-related establishments, and occupational health and safety.
