Description
The Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy is offered by the Department of Occupational Therapy of the University of West Attica. The programme provides comprehensive scientific education in occupational therapy, focusing on the assessment, prevention and rehabilitation of functional limitations and participation restrictions across the lifespan. Students acquire knowledge in biomedical, social and behavioural sciences, therapeutic interventions, assistive technologies and clinical decision-making through theoretical, laboratory and clinical education.

Graduates can find employment in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, mental health facilities, primary care facilities, schools, special education centers, senior care facilities, private clinics, and as independent practitioners.
Access Requirements / Progression Opportunities
A high school diploma and successful completion of the Panhellenic or placement exams are required. The degree is awarded upon successful completion of eight semesters and 240 ECTS credits.
Knowledge
Graduates possess comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Therapy, biomedical, social and behavioural sciences, principles of assessment and occupational therapy intervention, and the promotion of functional independence and participation in meaningful occupations. They acquire theoretical and evidence-based knowledge for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of occupational therapy interventions in accordance with the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) standards.
Skills
Graduates develop skills in evidence-based occupational therapy practice, assessment of individual and community needs, planning and implementation of individualized interventions, data collection, analysis and synthesis, decision-making, problem-solving, use of modern technologies, and effective collaboration with health, social care and education professionals.

Graduates are capable of providing comprehensive occupational therapy services across all areas of professional practice, implementing evidence-based interventions, working autonomously and responsibly within interdisciplinary teams, adapting to scientific developments through lifelong learning, participating in research, and contributing to the improvement of health, functional performance, participation and quality of life for individuals and communities.
