Description
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance is offered by the Department of Accounting and Finance of the University of West Attica. The programme provides comprehensive education in accounting, finance, auditing, taxation, management accounting, financial analysis, investments and business information systems. Students acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills for financial decision-making and resource management.

Access Requirements / Progression Opportunities
A high school diploma and successful completion of the Panhellenic or placement exams are required. The degree is awarded upon successful completion of eight semesters and 240 ECTS credits.
Knowledge
The program provides comprehensive scientific education in Accounting and Finance, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. Graduates acquire knowledge of financial accounting based on Greek Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), management and cost accounting, auditing, taxation, financial management, investments, financial and capital markets, international economics, and financial analysis. They also gain knowledge in economics, business administration, commercial, civil and labour law, quantitative methods, statistics, business information systems, marketing, human resource management, entrepreneurship, and the use of modern accounting information systems.
Skills
Graduates develop skills in preparing, analysing, and interpreting financial statements, applying accounting standards, costing products and services, preparing budgets, ensuring tax compliance, and conducting auditing procedures. They are able to evaluate the financial performance and sustainability of organisations, support managerial and investment decision-making, use modern accounting information systems and financial tools, apply quantitative methods and statistical techniques, analyse business data, and operate effectively within complex business and financial environments.
Competences
Graduates are competent to apply accounting and financial principles within public and private sector organisations, organise and support accounting, taxation, and auditing functions, participate in financial planning, risk management, and strategic business decision-making. They are qualified to work in accounting departments, auditing firms, financial institutions, and public organisations, or to pursue careers as professional accountants, tax consultants, and financial advisors.
