Description

Upon completion of the study programme, the student possesses:
1. Knowledge of communication methods and their social implications, and familiarity with the relevant new technologies.
2. Technical background knowledge regarding the modern technologies that are behind the media.
3. The ability to produce analytical studies, design and implement modern products and services related to social media, the Internet and new media, in general.
4. The ability and tendency to follow developments in digital media and adapt globalized nature applications at local or national level.
5. The required background in economic and administrative knowledge to enhance his/her capacity to deal with advertising and marketing.
6. Ability of critical analysis of any kind of applied forms of communication and their resulting consequences.
7. Communication competences in written and oral.

Relation to Employment

Graduates of the Department can be employed either as employees or as self-employed in the following labour market sectors: (a) communication-PR-event management, (b) advertising, (c) mass media (electronic and print), (d) audio-visual media production, (e) web expertise (incl. social media, mobile), (f) tourist-cultural management.
