Knowledge:
• Acquire an organized and complete knowledge system that includes basic knowledge of positive and social sciences with particular emphasis on the development of methodological and technological tools.
• Acquire the ability to form and compose cognitive clusters so as to study natural and socio-economic phenomena and processes/procedures within the area.
• Acquire detailed knowledge of methodological tools of social and scientific disciplines and technological tools of information technology to analyse spatial phenomena and formulate scenarios for geographically futures.
• Are provided with systematic and comprehensive knowledge that can incorporate new developments in the field of Geography and particular physical geography, human geography, space planning and geo-informatics.
• Distinguish the different aspects of natural and social-economic phenomena and processes/procedures, and of their interactions.
• Recognize various phenomena (social, economic, environmental) and interaction processes/procedures at different scales of space, as well as distinguish the needs of different social groups in a variety of spatial and socio-economic contexts.
Skills:
• Make effective use of the methodological and technological tools necessary to implement the knowledge they have gained.
• Evaluate the physical and socio-economic phenomena and processes/procedures, applying the most appropriate tools.
• Know to implement both field and office work.
• Intervene through design but also through actions in the field.
• Monitor through indicators and evaluation systems natural and socio-economic phenomena and processes/procedures, organizing any interventions required.
• Evolve and adapt their knowledge to the wider field of Geography.
• Communicate and interact with scientists from different disciplines in order to promote interventions in space.
• Promote the use of new technologies in scientific and cognitive fields linked to the analysis-interpretation-setting of space.
Competences:
• Further develop and evolve their knowledge and skills, constantly adopting new technologies and adapting their knowledge in the ever changing environment which they are asked to handle.
• Plan and apply the specialized knowledge and skills acquired within the geography curriculum, since they have indulged in promoting interdisciplinarity of phenomena and necessity of integrated approaches for their study.
• Promote the solution of problems associated with the design and implementation of interventions in space.
• Promote the development of knowledge, techniques and practices in their wider professional field.
• Autonomously undertake responsibility for education and training in the field of Geography and individual specialties, as well as for evaluation of their performance.
• Cooperate and discuss with various disciplines in an interdisciplinary and scientific environment, contributing, through synthetic knowledge, to the approach of natural and socio-economic issues as to their impacts in space.
• Exercise management regarding interventions in space.
• Know the correct relationship between the necessary office and field work to understand any particular problem in space.
