Description
After completion of the programme, students have the specialized knowledge and practical experience to be successfully able either to operate independently or to be employed as accountant in business or in the financial industry. They also can, according to Law 3912/2011, be registered as members of the Economic Chamber of Greece.
The graduate has the following:
Knowledge:
• Analyses financial statements.
• Describes techniques of financial accounting.
• Formulates principles of financial accounting and implementation issues of accounting standards.
• Prepares and analyses accounting reports.
• Analyses qualitative and quantitative data of accounting information.
• Describes, distinguishes and explores costing methods.
• Formulates, describes and analyses issues of adjustment of fixed assets and amortization of labour and commercial law and of assessment, analysis and management of investment, capital analysis, financial markets, specific budgetary issues, specific accounting profession ethics issues, accounting theory and theory of accounting thinking, financial theory and modern theories of financial analysis, use of computer systems of quantitative analysis and aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
• Analyses issues of internal control and corporate governance, special issues of adjustment of fixed assets and amortization, special issues of labour, commercial law and labour relations, and of financial management of enterprises.
• Analyses auditing issues.
• Formulates, investigates and analyses issues related to accounting theory and research, as well as financial theory and research, depending on the direction chosen.
