Description

The programme aims to the following: (a) the preparation of future executives for the public or private sector, for NGOs and international organisations active in the East and Southeastern Europe, (b) the continuous education and specialisation of already working executives, and (c) the proper preparation of students interested in furthering their studies to acquire a doctorate diploma.

In the last two decades there have been dramatic changes in both the political systems and economies of Southeastern Europe (SEE). These economic and political developments are intimately interrelated. The initial political changes of the early ’90s had important economic consequences; the economic progress and prospects of the region are constrained by its political institutions and governance. At the same time, several countries of the region have become full members of the European Union, some also of the Eurozone, and others are still in the process of accession. The MA in the Politics and Economics of Contemporary Eastern and Southeastern Europe aims at offering a comprehensive analysis of both political and economic development in the region, emphasizing the interrelation between the two, and setting the institutional and social context on firm analytical grounds.
