Description

Specialisation of scientists, at postgraduate level, in order to promote and apply knowledge in the economy and administration of businesses of animal production and aquacultures, as well as the provision of relevant technical and financial advice, including the development of the countryside. In order for the primary sector of Animal Production and Aquacultures to develop as necessary and deal with competition, is in need of capable scientists, firstly in order to deal with composite technical and financial issues in production and the administration of respective businesses, secondly to have in depth the necessary knowledge on the productive procedure and use the modern methods and tools of the science of economics with the purpose of effectively managing production units or providing quality advices. On the other hand, the current social and financial reality in our country requires the reorganization of the agricultural industry and the support of the revival of the countryside, along with the increase of primary production. The success of these objectives requires planning and knowledge based on the latest scientific data. The Postgraduate Studies Programme aims to the specialisation of scientists who shall establish or man businesses of animal production and aquacultures, along with businesses providing technical and financial advices and development bodies and agencies (such as developing companies, agencies of the local government, design firms). The Interdepartmental Programme of Studies is an applied Programmed of Studies that will allow interdisciplinary and comprehensive treatment of these gaps in education.

Relation to Employment

The Postgraduate Studies Programme admits graduates of Departments of Agronomy and other Positive, Financial, and Social Sciences of University departments and accredited foreign relevant Institutions, as well as graduates of Technological Educational Institute Departments of a relevant cognitive subject.
