Description

The subject of the Interdepartmental Programme of Postgraduate Studies (IPPS) is the postgraduate teaching and research on subjects of applied technologies for the static support, restoration, and energy upgrading of buildings at a European and national scale, as well as on the respective institutional tools and procedures for their application. The purpose of the present IPPS is for the graduates of the Departments of Educator Civil Engineers and Educator Mechanical Engineers or of University and Technical Educational Institute Departments of relevant academic content, to acquire knowledge and skills on issues concerning the technologies for the reinforcement, restoration, and energy upgrading of buildings, with the purpose of creating a specialised scientific workforce who shall be able (a) to immediately enter the labour market and cover the increased demand for professionals observed internationally for this field, both in the private sector (designs for reinforcements, restoration, and energy upgrading of buildings), as well as in the wider public sector (officers in agencies, provision of specialised knowhow as special scientists, in consulting services, auditing bodies, certifications, etc.), (b) work in the Secondary Technological Education (with updated knowledge) and (c) work in research programmes and continue further with postgraduate studies.
