Description
The graduates of the Programme of Studies of Electrical Engineering of Technological Education will have acquired the specialized knowledge in order to be capable of working either on their own or in collaboration with other scientists in the study, research and application of technology on modern and specialized sectors of electronic science.
With regard to the general learning outcomes, the graduates of the programme shall be capable of the following:
- work effectively as members in or as heads of a technical team;
- effectively apply written and oral communication in technical and non-technical texts and environments, identifying and using suitable literature;
- understand the need and be capable of participating in self-directing actions for continuous professional advancement;
- show responsibility, ethical behaviour and respect to diversity and to the environment during their work;
- evaluate the impact of the technological achievements by sciences to a constantly developing social and global framework;
- commit to quality and continuous improvement;
With regard to the specialised learning outcomes about the science of electronics, the graduates of the programme shall be capable of the following:
- select and apply the knowledge of engineering mathematics and science in problems of electronic technology requiring the application of rules and clearly formulated procedures and methodologies;
- conduct standardized tests and measurements, conduct, analyse, and interpret experimental data, and apply experimental results for the improvement of procedures;
- locate, analyse, and give solutions to widely known problems of electronic technology;
- study, design, and produce electronic elements, modules, devices and systems;
- issue studies concerning design and production, supervise manufacturing, assemble and maintain facilities, and handle the control and operation of clauses, devices and systems in the fields of telecommunications, audiovisual and radio television, of protection and fire safety systems, of electronic measurement instruments, of power electronics, of computers, of microcontrollers, of networks, of energy technologies, of medical instrumentation, and of industrial electronic automations;
- issue technical and financial-technical studies and expert reports on the above fields;
- apply the standardisation and certification of quality for the devices and instruments used in the above sectors;
- organize and manage businesses active in electronics and the applications thereof in the above sectors;
- conduct applied research in the above fields.

Presidential Decree 346/8.6.89 (Government Gazette 158/14.6.89 file Α) establishes the professional rights of the department's graduates.
