Description

The purpose and the objectives of the Department of Nursing are, based on the curriculum, to cover the cognitive field of Nursing and allow graduates to fully cope with the labour market, which includes the following: Hospitals, Health Centres, Private Practices, and any other area where a Nursing Service is offered. The mission and the purpose of the Department is to provide education to students, in order for them to acquire a solid scientific background, experience, and knowhow in the very dynamic field of Nursing, while fully protecting the professional rights of its graduates. Specifically: Provision of knowledge in the modern developments of every field in Nursery (primary care, internal medicine and surgical nursing and specialty nursing). - Acquisition of knowledge and skills regarding the organization and operation of hospital structures. - Creation of scientists with the necessary skills for a successful career in the private, public, and academic field. - Manning of Hospital Units by Nurses and the provision of quality care. - Preparation of students for postgraduate studies.
Upon completing their studies, the graduates of the Nursing Department must be able to work in any Nursing Unit with complete safety.

Relation to Employment

The degree of the Department of Nursing is necessary for the acquisition of the Professional Practice License of the Nurse of Tertiary Education.
