Description
The graduate of the Department:
Knows (KNOWLEDGE): thermodynamic analysis of thermal and energy systems, calculations of thermal and hydraulic machines, hydraulic of systems using open and closed pipes, mechanical drawing, material and structural statics and strength, design of mechanical systems and facilities using a computer, calculations of elements for machines and mechanisms.
Understands and analyses (SKILLS): the operation of pumps, gas engines, gas turbines, steam turbines, thermo-electric power plants, heat, refrigeration and air conditioning devices, vehicles, lifting and transportation machines, programmable machine tools, analysis of machining processes for shaping metal materials, calculation and design of steel structures, environmental engineering for wastewater and gaseous pollutants and the use of renewable energy.
Is capable of (COMPETENCES):
- Designing, implementing, and supervising the manufacture, maintenance, operation of: mechanical industrial facilities.
- Designing and developing products and services relevant to the aforementioned sectors.
- Implementing programmes of applied research and development.
Relation to Employment
The title of studies is linked to the professional practice license of Mechanical Engineer of Technological Education.
