Description
Upon completing the courses of the programme, the learners shall acquire the necessary knowledge (what is expected of them to know), the skills (what is expected of them to understand) and competences (what is expected of them to apply) in the Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Specifically, they:
Knowledge
• understand the importance of Logistics and Supply Chain Management in order to acquire a competitive advantage from the businesses and organisations at a local, national, and global level;
• acquire the necessary scientific knowledge regarding Logistics and Supply Chain Management and apply modern practices and technologies;
• acquire the appropriate theoretical background regarding the main operations of Logistics and Supply Chain Management;
• acquire knowledge about the basic elements of the main logistic procedures, such as: customer services, procurements, production support, transports and distributions, stock management, storage, and returns.
Skills
• provide the main ideas, principles, and techniques for the successful design, execution, monitoring, and control of the procedures of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management;
• support an integrated perception concerning the applications, tools, and techniques for the analysis, evaluation and application of the best possible practices in order to resolve problems of Logistics and Supply Chain Management;
• analyse the practices, challenges, and opportunities of the market with regard to the Logistics and Supply Chain Management sciences.
Competences
• promote the science of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management through the application of research activities;
• apply and evaluate the performance of strategies with regard to the following operations of added value of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management: Procurements, Material Forwarding, Demand Forecasting, Stock, Order Processing, Storing, Packaging, Transports, Spare parts and repairs, Customer service, Dealing with returned products, Recycling and removal of wastes;
• apply specialised software applications and innovative technologies in support of the decision taking procedure in order to improve the procedures of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
