Description

The knowledge acquired by postgraduate students by the programme are very specialised, treating Accounting not only as a fundamental method for business organisation, but mainly as an administrative tool for decision taking. In addition, the international accounting standards, or those of the public sector, are cutting-edge knowledge, which equips them with the ability for original thinking and consideration in comparing, for instance, productivity, effectiveness, or efficiency of businesses or organisations that are different in time or space. In any case, the relevant knowledge about the development of systems, e.g. of internal control, not only refer to assessments of the efficiency of the administration of businesses and organisations, but also enable reliable forecasts for the efficiency and thus the sustainability of units in international competition.
The skills acquired by the students of the Programme for the resolution of problems, e.g. the accounting evaluation of the fair value of businesses or organisations, could lead to the development of innovations for the effective tackling of international competition.
The basic competence acquired by the students of Postgraduate Studies Programme "Accounting and Auditing" refers to their adjustment to fluctuating business environments, thus directly resulting to efficient administrative decisions. In addition, the knowledge and the skills cultivated in auditing help students develop a significant critical capacity for evaluating strategic performance, especially with regard to the management of human resources.

Relation to Employment

The Master's degree in Accounting and Auditing is necessary in order to participate in the vocational examinations for Certified Auditors or Internal Auditors or generally for the certification of Accountants, at international level, with the option of accreditation / exemption in the vocational examinations of additional courses, in comparison to non-holders of the Master's degree in Accounting and Finance awarded by Crete T.E.I.
