Description

With the completion of the curriculum, the learner shall:
(a) have knowledge from the entire scope of Nursing care, in order to understand concepts concerning the Nursing science;
(b) acquire skills in order to implement plans of specialised nursing care, the nursing process on the daily practice (evaluation of the individual, nursing diagnosis, scheduling of nursing care, application and evaluation of results), skills regarding the provision of information and supporting the autonomy and independent of individuals in order to adjust to actual or possible health problems, and skills for the design and implementation of education and promotion programmes for health to individuals, families, groups, and to the community, at a level of primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention.
(c) They shall acquire competences of analytical and critical thinking, competences for taking decisions related to the clinical practice, competences for organizing and designing care programmes and programmes related to the education and promotion of health, and finally competences for applying and assessing the nursing interventions applied to individuals and/or populations at the prevention, treatment or restoration level. (d) After completing the programme, the learner shall be capable of understanding the principles, concepts and knowledge of the Nursing science and offer nursing care to all aspects of healthcare services, at primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare level, both in the public and in the private sector.

Relation to Employment

The Nursing Degree is necessary to work as a Nurse.
